Telstra to launch 3G Apple iPhone in Australia this June

By: Peter Chubb | April 21, 2008 | 4 Comments

It does seem funny that just last year Greg Winn who is one of the top guys at Telstra the Australian telecommunications company said that Apple could stick their iPhone. Well now it seems that the company has had a change of heart as the Australian release of the iPhone will could be this June and looks as though it could be the 3G version of the handset.

Although Telstra is the largest phone provider in OZ, it seems as if they will not be the only ones to get the Apple iPhone. It was way back in February last year that Winn said “Apple is not a mobile phone manufacturer, that’s not their knitting.”

Greg who is the second in charge over at Telstra said that other top phone makers like Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson would be launching their own handsets that will rival the of the Apple iPhone. However, it now seems as if Winn has had to eat his words and back track on what he said, maybe it has something to do with what the consumers want.

So how has the information leaked that Telstra will be distributing the 3G Apple iPhone, well that is simple it seems as if a staff member at a Telstra customer service call center told some caller that they would be stocking this handset.

How sure are you on this. You seem to be the only site claiming telsta is providing it and in June. I would have thought that would be a huge rumour if true and every site should be talking about it by now

    Peter,
There hasnt been an official announcement about any Australian carrier having the rights to sell the iphone. All we have heard from Apple Australia is that it will be “some time in 2008″.

Until we do hear an announcement from Apple themselves dont get too excited with titles like “Telstra to launch 3G Apple iPhone in Australia this June”

The only thing that seems to be missing here is that plugin that allows you to interlink your blog content, cloak affiliate links (or any other links), add the no follow attribute and stuff like that. Actually, it lets you do a whole lot more than that but some of the highlights include the simple ability to just write your blog like you normally do and then have links automatically inserted. So if you are trying to make money from an affiliate program with a financial theme, you could set it up so that your keywords in your blog automatically link to your affiliate URL and the link would be cloaked so that it just looks like the user would be going to a different page on your blog. SEO Smart Links can automatically interlink your content to key pages deeper into the site improving both search engine rankings (by using relevant anchor text in the links) and search engine crawling of your site. In short, SEO Smart Links is a WordPress plugin that improves the overall SEO strength of your blog by automatic interlinking your content as well as automatically converting keywords you define into (affiliate) links. There are already thousands of bloggers who use this tool. In fact, you have probably seen it in action quite a few times and didn’t even know it. Check it Out -> http://adf.ly/1Txj0
