Sales of Microsoft Xbox 360 have doubled in Europe

Not so long ago it looked as if the Xbox 360 hand lost its crown as the best games console on the market as the Sony PS3 started to close the gap. Sales of the Xbox 360 were affected; ok not only from the onslaught from Sony’s PlayStation 3 but also as a shot in the foot from Microsoft themselves with the RROD issue.

Well thanks to some huge prices cuts of the Xbox 360 in Europe it seems as if the next-generation console sales have started to increase, well by double in fact. It seems that being able to purchase an entry level Xbox 360 for just £160 was an attractive offer for consumers.

It was thought that with the recent demise of the HD DVD, it would affect sales of the Xbox 360, but it looks as though people are just interested in the gaming side of things, and the Xbox certainly does that part well.

Not only has sales of Microsoft’s games console increased but it looks as though the Xbox 360 sells 7 times more games than that of the Sony PS3, however you have to remember that the Xbox 360 has been out a lot longer and also the console has many more games as well.

    I’m actually thinking of getting a second one for my living room so I don’t disturb my girlfriend while playing COD4 at 2 in the morning…. at less than €200 (wii costs €260), it’s a bargain

  4. JMS says:

    Yaa but the xbox 360 only sold 3 units at the South Pole last month…the end is near!!!

  5. daskoot says:

    under 200?? are you on crack thats pounds not dollars wii is 260 dollars and lowest model of xbox is 279

  6. Pete says:

    I’m buying a second 360 on GTA4 launch day so i can play it in peace while my girlfriend tries to finish oblivion, i thought about getting a Wii just for Mario Kart but i can’t justify buying a console for just one game, i’m not saying the Wii hasn’t got good games it’s just that i personally only ever saw Mario Kart and Golden Eye as must have games.

    even with their price cut and doubling of sales, they are still being outsold by ps3! and DASKOOT… YOU ARE ON CRACK. THE ARTICLE IS ABOUT EUROPEAN SALES FIGURES, OF COURSE IS IN POUNDS. XBOTS ARE SAD

    I have been hearing reading about this article all day and I have to say that I am sceptical. Isn’t it funny that they come out with this the day NPD is to release their sales for march? Just to stimulate my curiosity I went to amazon.co.uk and the ps3 is ranked 9 while the closest xbox’s are ranked at 29, 57, and 72. Thinking this I went to france and there the ps3 is ranked 33 while the xbox’s are ranked 149, 189 and 400. The same pattern was observed in germany. So even if they are selling double it doesn’t seem like they are selling much. And to even insinuate that you have more sales than the wii is hilarious. Nice PR spin microsoft. Your console is the worst selling console three months in a row, and the wii is king!

  9. 360Lover says:

    The 360 is the biggest piece of shit ever made.

  10. Wii's Suck 8--> says:

    Aww bill, don’t cry cause you don’t unlock any achievements after you finally reach PRO level in any Wii Sport…
