Grand Theft Auto IV will be one of the hottest games this year, and will take up hours of your time. However a lot of time will be taken up trying to learn and get used to the controls.

Well thankfully we have a video here that shows you the controls for Grand Theft Auto IV on both the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360. I am not alone when I say that the controller is a lot more difficult to hold and get used to compared to that of the Microsoft Xbox 360.

You better take a close look at this video, then the moment you start playing Grand Theft Auto IV, you would already have mastered all the controls.

i hope your not being serious when you say the 360 pad is easier to hold than the ps3. having both console i find that the ps3 pad is much more comfortable than the 360

Having both consoles I prefer the 360’s control pad. Swings and roundabouts. Plus the PS3 “trigger” buttons R2 and L2 are bloody horrible to use.

I think the numbers tell the story:
120million PS2 + 10million PS3 owners using dual shock controllers, and some 35 million Xbox and X360 owners. Surely if controllers _were_ an issue with PS2/PS3 this would be a mitigating sales factor.. but it isnt. So say what you like.. numbers do the talking.

spike, i do agree the trigger buttons on the ps3 are terrible but overall i feel the ps3 pad feels better. thats just my opinion though.

I have no problem with the PS# controller except the triggers. I HATE them. At least its possible for a 3rd company (not so on my 360) to make an after market controller that might be more comfortable.

I have to say that while i loved my PS2 i hated the official controller and prefered to use a third party logitec controller.
I was actually one of the few people that was looking forward to the restyled boomerang controller in the hope that it would feel more comfortable than the dualshock.
It’s part of the reason why i haven’t bought a PS3 yet as i’ve found the 360 controllers to be much better, particularlly the offset position of the analog sticks and the proper trigger buttons.
P.S. I do intend to buy a PS3 in the future so if anyone who has the same problem with the official pads knows of a third party wireless controller i might prefer could you please let me know who it’s made by and i’ll try it out, thx.

I agree, having both consoles the PS3 controller just plain sucks. As for the augument about the PS2 / PS3 numbers selling more, well, people did not know what they were getting till they actually bought the thing, including me ! I wish i could take my PS3 back now, feel like it was a waste of money…. Rubbish controller, washed out graphics, 2nd rate all the way. I mainly use it to watch blurays now, it is good for that at least. I will be getting the Xbox 360 version for the Better colors and control scheme, along with the downloadable content, cause it’s GTA BABY !!

Yes yes spike… keeep clinging to those PS2 numbers… because you sure wouldn’t want to compare xbox 360 to PS3… even if you averaged the sales per month to account for xbox 360’s earlier release.

Anyway… I have both 360 and PS3, and I prefer the 360 control by a long-shot. The PS3 however is an excellent bluray player =)

each controller is good for specific games: the SIXAXIS and DUALSHOCK 3 is good for games like assassins creed, devil may cry 4, metal gear games, and especially gta4 but the 360 controller is good for first person shooters and some racing games like burnout paradise. i prefer the ps3 controller to the 360 one cos:
    1: its got motion sensing,
    2: built in battery
    3: rechargable battery.
4: light and easy to pick up and comfortable
5: no massive bulk at the back (360 controller)

Just to add that the PS3 controller is identical to the PS2 controller, give the 1)light weight and 2)trigger buttons. I highly doubt, “Matt” that 120 million people had no idea as to what they were getting into when they purchased the PS2 and the 10 1/2 million whom as of January 1 have gotten the PS3. I mean if you truly believe the only worth of the PS3 is Blue-Ray, then how come even Microsoft predicted that 360 sales would trail PS3 this year?
