Hi there,
This list is a great start and there’s so much more to do. One of the best ways to reduce your impact on the earth is to grow your own vegetables and fruit, keep a few chickens and conserve rain water and grey water for your garden. We have made a huge dent in our expenditure by growing our own stuff and keeping a few chickens for their eggs. It’s great fun for the kids, reduces costs, reduces refuse removal quantities because you are re-using your kitchen wastes in the compost heap (which the chickens love!) and the taste and flavour of your food is much better than produce trucked in.
The chickens keep the garden pests at bay, like snails, worms, bugs, snakes, spiders, scorpions and other nasties and give us the most amazing eggs. Even our dogs get to eat better because they love the raw food diet we feed them which includes veggies and eggs from our garden.
You can also buy a few solar panels and batteries and rig up some cheap lighting which pays for itself really quickly.
Blessings to you all!
