Yesterday BBC’s iPlayer became available on the Nintendo Wii games console. So for those of you that own a Nintendo Wii you will now be able to watch BBC programmes on the console.
General manager of Nintendo UK David Yarnton said that “This exciting alliance with the BBC is yet another way in which Nintendo is looking to broaden the market for its products by offering compelling and relevant content to families. BBC iPlayer on Wii will offer Wii owners another reason to turn their console on every day and adds to the already established non-gaming content on Wii that includes news and weather channels and an internet browser.”
Do you think that this is a good idea?

Has anyone used this yet? Is it an optimsed window available through the internet channel or does it have it’s own channel? If it’s got it’s own channel then I think it is a very good idea.
