Carrying on with our hands-on review of the Sony PS3’s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, its now had a couple of weeks of gameplay and while I love the game and think it’s worth the half normal game price…it has it’s downfalls.
The main reason I wanted to play GT5 was for the online racing with friends and family, as Prologue is not the full game (that should be out within a year) I did not expect a massive single player game, although it does have a very good single player game for the money. The online gaming is a joke and I am sure many Playstation 3 gamers will agree, the idea of your car becoming invisible is disappointing and the major downfall is not being able to join in private games with your friends as you would on say COD4.
Fair enough your family and friends could have better cars than you, but that’s all part of the fun and an option to go into private races would have been greatly appreciated.
Do you wish you could have private races in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue?
The game is still well worth buying and you will get many hours of fun from it, lets just hope a free update adds more features.

I am dissapointed with the online play in GT5. You get penaltys for doing certain things then see other people doing the exact same thing and not getting a penalty. You get a penalty for taking a long cut when accidently going of the track putting you furhter behind then when you get back on the track your slowed down even more!
Private races are desparetly needed as with a whole host of other options. why not have rooms you can host or hosted by others. Also tthe number of laps needs to be changed. Very poor online play.

I agree with your comments about the online part of the game. They do however say that this is coming and will have a major feature tie in to PS3 Home, when it eventually turns up. It’s even mentioned on the back of the manual. Have patience and you will recieve!!

Finally somebody wrote about it.
It is the single most & almost only annoying thing about GT prologue.
No Friends list, or any method of choosing whom you race.
As mentioned its a small gripe being there is a legitimate bandwidth issue associated with online play and the method adopted has huge advantages with keeping gameplay consistent, still disappointing no less.
