Play games online of offline
In the last 4 weeks I have never once played a game offline, 99% of my time has been playing COD4 online as its been great working up the ranks, but this week things changed for the first time in a month.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a great game in single player (while I am sure it will get lots of gaming time online and in co-op), the game is very different to COD4 as I said in the comparison post yesterday but the realistic feel and single player game has made me start to play solo once again.

Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 users, do you play games online or offline more?

This got me thinking how much other gamers play online compared to offline/single player, I guess it depends what games we are talking about but still for me to play only online for a month is something…Am I the only one?

I play online more than offline Resistance: Fall of Man and Warhwak. I just play Resistance offline for like 4 hours every day for fun. Online games are more fun…

Xbox360: I play online more as it’s more fun to play with mates. I get bored on my own

I own a xbox 360 and a PS3 and I spend 99% of my time playing offline. I like a well crafted single player game. To me the experience of something like Half Life is waaaay more satisfying than online shooters. I think it depends what you value or enjoy. For me, it’s all about how the action and story elements mingle to create a more powerful experience.

I own a ps3, and I mostly play online. In fact I only bought a ps3 because the online play was cheaper. I needed it to have built in wi-fi, and I didn’t feel like dishing out 100$ out for the 360’s adapter.

So anyways, I play mostly online. I usually like to finish the campaign on games before i play online. But for the past couple of months, I’ve been playing online COD4. I’m trying to finish Vegas 2, beeen when i finish that, I’ll go back to hardcore COD4 online.

I have both and play online around 80% of the time. 360 gets almost all of the online use because I’ve built a base of friends on Live over the past 4 or 5 years. 10% goes to downloading demos, movies, tv shows , game videos and old arcade games. The last 10% would be for non-multiplayer games like Devil May Cry ( awsome game ).

Once MGS4 comes out I’m sure my PS3 will get alot more attention.

Man Im in the same boat. COD4 online (PS3) has owned me for months. I cant even put another game in and Ive never gone back to the single player off-line since first getting ghetto stomped online. Uncharted was the online game recently that I played through without online. Even with Resistance I preferred the online play. I think more and more gaming and console gamers will move to online for the simple fact that game play is going to be different every single time you play whereas with single player you rely on the AI being “smart” enough to shake things up a bit but AI is always too easy to work around once you find the glitch. With online (especially FPS) you get different intelligence behind the controls every time which allows you to get better as you are forced to change your tactics and really dive into the game play. In a shooter you might have to be slow and deliberate against some and others you might have to be fast and aggressive. I think the game devs have to be really happy with this because it allows people the opportunity to really flesh the game out and enjoy all aspects of game play instead of staying trapped in one mode of play.

i play offline when i play uncharted, oblivion or racket&lank, but i play onlive more than offline with COD4,warhawk,resistance.
EPIC need to fix the restarting issue on UT3 for PS3,i want to play hat game but they never fix it cuz epic likes to lick M$ ass.

I think most people play online more. Once you beat the campaign mode in a game, thats it. You can go back and unlock intel, achievements, ect. But many times, its just for the sake of having those things and nothing more. I only buy games with Online AND Offline(sorry Warhawk) or many hours of campaign gameplay and/or free-roam(Assassin’s Creed). I just want to make sure that I get a good deal for my $60.

However, GTA 4 will have online. I will spend most my time offline, maybe two months to beat the story missions at a normal pace(apparently 100 hours said by Rockstar).
