Madeleine McCann TV Documentary: ITV1 special with Kate and Gerry

Come May 3 it would have been one year since Madeleine McCann went missing and her parents Kate and Gerry McCann are launching a TV documentary to mark this sad event. ITV will be the channel to feature the Madeleine McCann documentary and it has been in the making since January as Kate and Gerry have been followed by cameras, this programme will also feature the “US-style Amber Alert system” that is going to be launched in Europe.
The alert system is a fantastic idea that could help find children that going missing much faster, as law enforcement agencies will be empowered to get airtime on radio and TV if a child goes missing and that will make the public aware of the facts much faster.

For the parents it doesn’t seem such a sad event - they have grabbed as much publicity as they wouldn’t ever dream if they had stayed as mere parents of little Madeleine. They became stars, they even consider a change of career…What bad could they have gotten?
Only their little child suffered, she had her life severed when she was supposed to start “blossoming” it.
So sad!
What I find so sad is peoples attitude to Madeleines parents even a year on, sadly doesnt seem to have changed.
How the person commenting above can say that her parents have become ’stars’s is just ridiculous, if my child went missing I would do WHATEVER it took to find her and if that meant using publicity as a means then so be it, why do people find this so hard to understand.
It seems to me that the general public seem to have the opinion that if someone is in the public eye then that must mean they see themselves as ‘celebrities’ or ’stars’. I find it difficult to understand how anyone can be bitter or even show signs of the ‘green eyed monster’ to a couple that are trying to find their daughter and lets not forget are helping to try and put a system in place like the US style amber alert.
I remember a few months back my friends mum was bright red with anger and pointing her finger in my face as I dared to defend the parents of a missing child, she already had them down as murderers because in her words, “they must have done it……it says so in the papers” It scares the hell out of me that one day she could be called up for jury service.
I hope Madeleines parents are successful in their campaign to bring in an European amber alert that could help save many other childrens lifes. Lets hope at least somthing good can come from such a horrible tragedy.
