Xbox 360 & Sony PS3 Gamers: does having more games choice mean you buy more?
First lets make a point, the Xbox 360 does have way more games than the Sony PS3 and we do not need to get into that but the real question is: does having more games and more choice mean that you buy more video games?
Although some gamers who have had the Xbox 360 from day one should have more games than PS3 owners as it has been out not as long, or I may be wrong.
So in the interest of finding out if more games means you buy more, be honest and let us know how many Xbox 360 or Sony PS3 games you own and feel free to tell us which ones if you wish.

I don’t know, for me, I just know the games that I’ve always enjoyed and the developers that i’ve always respected. Usually I’m waiting for the oldschool IP’s, and then anything new that comes along that catches my eye I’ll buy. I kind of went crazy with PS3 purchases though, not sure why, but I just started buying every game I could lol.

Ya, Im a big shooter game kind of guy.
I only got my PS3 at christmas but I bought assassins creed, Uncharted, and MLB 08. I do plan on picking up MGS4, GTA4, GT5, LBP and maybe Resistance 2.
I would say its a big yes, Last gen xbox didnt have much running for it, games would release and i wouldnt give a second look at.
But this time around, im always seeing the next big thing for the xbox and ps3 and even the wii. Last gen i had a total of maybe 6-7 games for xbox, this time around 20+ with atleast 10 games ive sold on after playing them and atleast enougher 5 games on my preorder list.
looking at round 5 xbox games enougher 4 ps3 games and 3 wii games my bank is feeling the pain

i got my ps3 at xmas and now the proud owner of 1o ps3 games not including the downloaded games. i try to buy one at least every two weeks.
this along with my back catolouge of ps2 games around 95 at the last count stops me getting bored on cold winter nights

Why wouldn’t you just get UT3 on the PS3? It’s got support for MODS, you can use K/M… whats not to like?
GTA 4 was San Andreas I thought? Anyway I meant the new one coming out.
I would rather play online games in the Xbox Live community then PS3 any day. I could care less about mods on ps3, thats what PC gaming is for. I also can’t stand the PS3 controller, especially for shooters, 360’s controller is much better.
I’m not poor but i like to spend my money wisely that’s why the huge selection of games available on the 360 allows me to buy nearly all my games used at a fraction of the price. The only games i’ve bought new at full price are Halo 3 and GTA4 i’ll buy on day 1, i own about twenty games and many more i’ve traded in. The PS3 section at my local game store is very small and uncompelling at the moment so i don’t intend to buy a PS3 until there is a much better selection by which time there should be some used bargains and maybe PSN will have improved by then.

Thing is after having my 360 die on me for the 6th time I’ve had enough. I’ll keep hold of it for Gears 2 and Fable and any other exclusives but from here on in any multi platform games are being brought on my PS3, at least its reliable. I don’t own any DLC on my 360 after I had a Hard Disk fail and it turned out I’d have to buy all my content again!!! Erm no screw you Microsoft I don’t think so. Shame because I like the Live set up, hopefully Home will make up for it.
I’ve got 7 PS3 games so far (mostly exclusives) and I don’t own a 360 because I already have a PC.
My 360 went down a while back so I just plugged in my old Xbox and played Halo 2 for a while. I got a new 360 3 day’s after I sent mine to Xbox. I waited months when my PS2’s died. I think MS has great customer service…when you get someone that speaks english at least.
Grand Turismo 5 Prologue is not Grand Turismo 5. It’s just a taste of the game. The real GT5 just got pushed back again, at least one more year until it comes out.
Thanks, I forgot about Bioshock, Lost Planet and Kameo. I still have Bioshock but traded the others in for new ones. Great games though.
I got an Xbox 360, and I got it actually because of the games. ’til today, I think the best games are on Xbox 360, the only games I would like to play on PS3 are Resistance and Uncharted.

I own about 15 xbox360 titles and I’m gonna buy Rainbow Six 2morow and I have already banked money for GTA4. I’ve had to replace my xbox twice at the store without any hassle or question. This is all the more surprising as I live in South Africa where we dont even get xbox Live.

Yeah, more options is always better. Also having the ability to download games via PSN for me is pretty nice. For me the biggest concern is usually if it has a demo. If I can first download a demo and get a feel for the controls and the game it lets me know right off the bat if I’m going to end up spending any time with the game and if it’s worth purchasing.

There are way too many games I want to purchase in 2008. My real problem is going to be finding enough time to play them.
The only difference between having more games out means you have a larger choice of pre owned games sounds cheap but when there half the price of new one this must have an impact on the console you chose.
i have both ps3 and Xbox 360 but i prefer the ps3 the only reason i have a 360 is lack of choice in games for the ps3 when more comes out i will bin the 360.
microsoft are as reliable in consoles as they are in computers there garanteed to die,crash and be droped at there will. e.g xbox
