David Cook from American Idol might be a good singer but having listened to Michael Jackson a lot while growing up, hearing him try and sing Billy Jean was a nightmare. The song did not suit him at all, he tried to sing it in his own way but it failed for me. Although I must admit, most people feel that David Cook made the evening.

You’ve got to be kidding! I can’t believe you didn’t like this. This was genius. I could watch/listen over and over again.
this guy just keeps on creating agreat sound too any song he sings!The way he sang Lionel Richie was great,and lastnight I think he proved again he’s a standout from the rest!
I loved the original but I did my research and listened to the version WHICH HE REFERENCED which was Chris Cornell’s version. While it was very different he still changed it. You have to be open minded somewhat to like this version which I can tell you don’t.
