With prices of the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 being very close, currently the Playstation 3 is known to have the much better hardware but not the better choice of games.
What would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?
For thousands of people world-wide the answer was simply “RROD”, the hardware was so unreliable that many 360 owners went and brought a PS3 for better hardware and less games (in the hope for more in time).
Now the sides are even:
The Xbox 360’s hardware seems to be much more reliable now with hardly any reports of RROD, so it seems Microsoft have fixed this issue.
The Sony PS3 has not only won the High Definition movie war, but 2008 will see them increase the games collection massively, while it will still not be as good as the Xbox 360 in games collection, it will have more games than you have time to play.
The Xbox 360 has more gamers, so what would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?

And you’re a moron. I’ve only actually paid for one 360 system, not 4… but since they keep breaking on me, and I keep sending them back for a replacement, I am on my fourth. For your intellectual stimulation, and not that it is any of your concern, my systems sit on top of an entertainment center that keeps them well ventilated during use. This is also cleaned every day so as to keep them free af any dust during use.
And good for you, you win a fucking cookie. I’m glad your launch 360 is still running. You are in the lucky what… 1% it seems..? There are so many avid gamers out there that have invested there hard earned money on a 360, only to be met with the RRoD. It seems like such a waste, and an utter betrayal on Microsoft’s part. But your right. You got me… I may be a little biased against the 360, and even somewhat a PS3 fan, but only because it hasn’t given me ANY PROBLEMS WHAT-SO-EVER!
Next time go lock yourself in a semi-enclosed space, and while your at it learn to speak proper english, not engrish. I speak three languages fluently, what’s your excuse?

You said earlier that you’re on your 4th 360, not on your 3rd replacement. Stop making unintellligent statements, making you looked like an utter moron! and Wow, third replacemnt! Like I believe that! Yes, congratulate me and my friends (5 of them) did not have that RROD your saying, coz we take care of the console. You’re probably a jinx or whatever having to send your 360 three times or your probably banging your 360 for not beating the games the 360 is offering.

It’s really sad that many will cut each others toys to prove that theirs are better when specifications on the 2 machine show that PS3 out weighs the 360. Yes I am happy for those 360 hardcore gamers who are stuck with their potential RROD bombs. Just keep it alive by giving it air, mouth to mouth, or just suck on it. This will make all you 1% out of 99%? …that would happily waste all their precious time bringing it back to the store and wait for God, who know how long…Hardcore fans happy. By the time you calculate the expenses so call compare the price of the PS3 then you just wasted more money than the PS3.
Lets put it this way…Xbox 360 is a simple version of a SMALL DESKTOP with internal OS that does all the software loading at the Monkeys level so you can plug in your controller that Microsoft built like the same one you actually buy for your DESKTOP or LAPTOP to play the same game but require you to use the full keyboard…but gives you not 1 but 3 independent processors that actually thinks and processes separately by themselves that does not require any guidance from a main source (Hence the reason the machine goes a RROD). Just think that you invested on a LAPTOP or a DESKTOP already I presume…that I believe you bought the same game or similar to play before X360 came out and play it. Compare it to your Desktop or Laptop, isn’t X360 actually the same. But only one thing different your DESKTOP or LAPTOP only uses a Single or Dual Processor that really works because it was made by a reliable company. That is why Microsoft had their X360 system out a year before PS3 came out. This thing you call X360 is really the next generation DESKTOP that all the computer companies are soon to build for all of us in the world but with a keyboard. Explain also that you need to have your hands also held through the Live menu so you can claim that your HADRCORE GAMING experience is really worth to pay extra that you already pay for your internet access. Calculate that cost on your belt every month. So the question is, are you a monkey or a gamer?
But before you retaliate with your …I am an X360 HARDCORE GAMER comment. Remember that PS2 is still the world leader in the game console not Xbox 360. PS3 will take over the world again but with all the real HARDCORE GAMES. Just remember that all the programmers are leaving Bill Gates world to make better games for YOU KNOW …PS3. It is stated all over the gamer’s world. I don’t need to explain what PS3 really does because you already know. It just sucks to be you Xbox 360 HARDCORE DESKTOP GAMERS. Self denial is really not constructive. Enjoy your more that PS3 game options for now but be aware that your world is LIMITED. Buy all your add-on, exactly what Bill Gates wants you to do. That how he made his BILLIONS with software add-ons. Think about XP, Vista, XBOX360 or your new add-on XBOX720. So the question is, are you a monkey or a gamer?
i bought the xbox originaly to play Halo (coming from the world of PC games)…but as I experimented & discovered the many diverse styles of games out there I switched to the PS3 because it tended to have/focus on the types of games I liked. I don’t care for quantity and as for quality both consoles rule (with a kudos to Wii). that’s all, i never understand all the bashing and fanboy hating (though it’s funny to read i must admit with guilt)
well made points trich. however some of your points are eronious. you said u were thinking about the future of gaming whn u purchased the PS3. i think a lot of people, including me are of the opinion that the future of gaming is most definetely ONLINE gaming and im sorry but the PS3 falls woefully short. it just doesnt have the experience to go up against microsoft in this division.

To answer the question - Nothing at the moment will move me away from the xbox 360.
The main reason why is because I feel that Sony used the UK as source of income to reduce the price over in America. In the UK had to wait longer then anyone else for this unit and when it came out the price was sky high even though in Japan and the US it was being cut in price, we also had to live with a software emulated model whilst other places had the Hardware emulated model. I believe the models being released now are this software type all over the world.
Sony got into the market place because Nintendo messed around for too long with the Nintendo 64 in Europe and Sony jumped in and treated Europe with respect selling the unit cheaper with some good games and with the bugs ironed out.
Now I may sound like a Fanboy but before my 360 I was die hard Sony user and bought both the PS1 and PS2 on the day they were released but the way they have treated the UK is not on and so now Microsoft can have my hard earned cash.
