What would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?

With prices of the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 being very close, currently the Playstation 3 is known to have the much better hardware but not the better choice of games.
What would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?
For thousands of people world-wide the answer was simply “RROD”, the hardware was so unreliable that many 360 owners went and brought a PS3 for better hardware and less games (in the hope for more in time).
Now the sides are even:
The Xbox 360’s hardware seems to be much more reliable now with hardly any reports of RROD, so it seems Microsoft have fixed this issue.
The Sony PS3 has not only won the High Definition movie war, but 2008 will see them increase the games collection massively, while it will still not be as good as the Xbox 360 in games collection, it will have more games than you have time to play.
The Xbox 360 has more gamers, so what would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?

@slippy sloppy
It’s actually very good, as is the upscaling of the DVDs. Obviously it won’t be to the standard of a high-end player but it goes beyond adequate.
My situation is reversed. I know a couple of people with Xbox’s but the majority have the PS3.
I think we’re a long way off that price point. They’re still 400€ in Germany (approx £310)
Which games are exclusive to the Xbox ? I know Halo and PG4 but can some one let me know which others ? I’m not a fanboy and if there’s some decent games I’m missing out on then I’d consider adding an Xbox to my collection
Sean Gaffney - Thanks for heads up on the PS3 BR player. Seems like our situations are reversed.
Aside form Halo 3 and PG4 the exclusives I’ve really been impressed with have been Mass Effect, Bioshock and Viva Pinata. Otherwise it’s pretty equal and if you already have one machine, until they’re both so cheap it’s hard to refuse a purchase, there’s little point in getting the other.
I’ve come so close, so many times to getting a PS3 but owning a 360 I just can’t justify it. I suspect the same is true for PS3 owners.
Why would anyone get a 360 is a huge puzzle. That system is only good for mindless, cookie-cutter FPSs and 99% of games that are on 360, are also being released on PC. The smartest choice is PS3, and a PC. That way you can enjoy all the games out there. PS3 exclusives, are truly exclusive to PS3. Try playing EYE OF JUDGMENT on anything but PS3, or Uncharted for that matter.
Crappy over hyped exclusives for Xbox 360. If you want the most and best and the highest HD quality games you will definitely need a PLAYSTATION 3. Microsoft can’t offer quality only a junk console i will never in a life time switch to crapbox 180 xbotx xgay Xbox 360 is trash.
Ivan…fan boys can walk away now…..
Slippy Sloppy One game that was really good for the 360 and was an exclusive was Gears of War and in November theyare coming out with the second one. I have had one bad system which was broken out of the box but Microsoft had it back to me in a week and a half. That system never broke and I gave it to a friend before I went overseas this year. I then bought a elite which is much better anyway with less noise and no frezing.
I love the 360 online play I doubt Sony’s while free won’t be able to match it. This is why I believe this. Sony relies on the company that makes the game to set up a server for it. Xbox sets up all the servers for Live and I’ve been playing on xbox live ever since it was in Beta. Which is why the communication across games is smooth and the marketplace is easy to use.

@ EVERYBODY
THERE ALOT OF XBOX 360 HATERS AND PLAYSTATION 3 HATERS OUT THERE.. LETS GET THIS CLEAR AND OUT THE WAY FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DONT UNDERSTAND.
I do not feel that microsoft rushed the xbox 360 in any way they have done a proper job at building the console with its great online content. THE reason why it has got the 33% failure rate of the xbox is because the ppl who have purchased it put it in a cubbord and let the machine run for over 10 hours of game play in an enclosed area . I have purchased my 360 and let it run for over 10 hours of game play in a verry well ventilated area in my home theatre shelf and not once i got the red ring of light.
as for the ps3 its a great piece of technology slapped together and out on the market. most ppl dont even use 60% of what it has got. the console has one main processor that runs on 3.2ghz with 7 helpers which i consider as threads. 1 left over to fix all the machines latencey. as for the xbox it runs on 3 3.2ghz seperate cores with 2 threads on each core. the only way sony made the market is to ofcourse put in a bluray player with 45 extra memory slots which i doubt that anybody would use. the games on the 360 have more texture and characteristics to it than the ps3. the ps3 is and awsome machine the only upside i see to it is the bluray and nothing else.. i rather buy me a bluray player then to be stuck with a machine that game developers are confused about how to run their games on it!
ivan_psp
obviously your a hater u stick with ur oversized bluray player and enjoy the extra memory sticks
Sean Gaffney
if you do own a 360 i suggest you put it in a verry well ventilated area please do understand its a verry powerfull machine and has blown the ps3 out the bluwaters
I do not own 360, so I may not be a guy to answer this question posed for 360 owners. But I can give my reason why I am getting PS3, not 360.
The answer is simple: Blu-ray.
I am not a gamer. I am buying PS3 primarily as an HD player, but I am also going to try out a few games first time in my life.
Like Wii but in a very different way, PS3 is expanding the gaming population to reach out people like me who never played a game before but is curious enough to try out a few and perhaps more.
