What would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?

With prices of the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 being very close, currently the Playstation 3 is known to have the much better hardware but not the better choice of games.
What would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?
For thousands of people world-wide the answer was simply “RROD”, the hardware was so unreliable that many 360 owners went and brought a PS3 for better hardware and less games (in the hope for more in time).
Now the sides are even:
The Xbox 360’s hardware seems to be much more reliable now with hardly any reports of RROD, so it seems Microsoft have fixed this issue.
The Sony PS3 has not only won the High Definition movie war, but 2008 will see them increase the games collection massively, while it will still not be as good as the Xbox 360 in games collection, it will have more games than you have time to play.
The Xbox 360 has more gamers, so what would make an Xbox 360 owner move to Sony PS3?

I was at bestbuy debating weather or not I should be purchasing the 360 or the ps3. I chose to get the 360 reason being its purely made for gaming and has great proccessing power as well as great online content it directs you were you need to go without any hastle’s and you can even purchase high def movies online which is great. reason why i didnt not choose to purchase the ps3 is because I do not watch bluray dvd’s and I do not want to spend 30 dollars buying movies. the reason why i went to the 360 its purely made for gaming i dont even use it for dvd purposes if i want to watch a dvd then i head on to my stand alone dvd player which i have purchase for that reason. the xbox stricly stand for games and online play.. THANK YOU MICROSOFT FOR MAKING A GAMING CONSOLE NOT A CONSOLE FOR FUTURISTIC USELESS MOVIES WHICH DIGS 60 DOLLLARS OUT OF YOUR POCKETS FOR A MOVIE INSTEAD OF A DECEANT GAME!
the wii is damn cool, super smash bros aint out over here in the uk for ages yet but my friend has a hacked wii so i go round here to play it. If only they will stop using those damn friend codes. lol
Microsoft dragging it’s feet on the blu-ray add-on is just going to cause more and more people to pick up a ps3. I’m thinking about it myself. Xbox Live downloadable media is good for those who have the internet and don’t mind buying hard drives every few months. For me, I want removeable media in disk shape. It’s just what I want. The longer Microsoft goes without provding it to me the more likely I am to purchase a cheap blu-ray player (the ps3), but it won’t be because of games.
I have a Wii and a PS3. I only play the Wii with my kids. I never play it alone anymore. I just don’t find the games are interesting enough to keep my attention. I bought the PS3 for gaming but ALSO for it’s multimedia capabilities. I do watch blu-ray films on it. I use it to upscale my DVDs and stream music, photos and movies from my network media drive to it.
360 owners are gamers so until there is a decent enough catelogue of games they won’t come across. The 360 has a significant headstart on the PS3 but the games will come. The firmware updates Sony send out and the interaction with the PSP are also selling points FOR ME.

See my post. The PS3 is still, relatively, new. Of course the Xbox has a wider collection of games already available BUT, and this is the point, more games will come and if you read what the developers are saying the graphics will improve as they learn how to programme better for it. To switch now wouldn’t make a lot of sense. Give it time or if you really want more games now buy the Xbox additionally but keep the PS3. You’ll find you may switch back once it picks up speed.

Thank you Microsoft for rushing out the Xbox to grab the market regardless of the build quality and without any consideration to how the console will perform in the future. You do realise you don’t HAVE to buy Bluray films if you don’t want to ?
If someone wants a pure gaming console then I agree the Xbox is, at the moment, a better option (now the RROD seems to have stabalised) but if you want a more versatile machine then go for the PS3. It’s a matter of choice. Of course Fanboys can’t abide choice. Much better to find fault with the opposition that accept it MAY have some other qualities thier machine of choice doesn’t…
“You do realise you don’t HAVE to buy Bluray films if you don’t want to ?” Of course but if you buy a PS3 you have to buy a Blu-Ray player, which many people don’t want.
Soon enough the PS3 will be affordable but at the moment they’re not tapping into the mainstream, just gamers. I can’t argue the 360 is doing any better at targeting non-gamers in the way the PS2 and the Wii have but at least they are affordable options. FYO, in the UK the PS3 costs $600.
No reason @ all, but the reason i would move from ps3 to 360 is better and more games.
@sloppy
Which is my point. If you’re not interested in blu ray or the additional media capabilities then you wouldn’t buy a PS3. You’d opt for an Xbox. If you want more than just games you’d go for the PS3.
I wanted more than just games and use my blu-ray / DVD upscaling player as much as I play games. It suited MY choice but wouldn’t suit everyone’s.
When the PS3 comes down to £200 ($400) in the UK then they’ll start to fly off the shelves.
Can I ask what the Blu-Ray player is like in the PS3? I honestly don’t know anyone who has a PS3 and I guess I assumed it would be the equivalent of the DVD player in my PS2 - adequate but nowhere near as good as a standalone player.
