Oregon Man Pregnant: Mr. Beatie is expecting a baby girl

An Oregon man is pregnant according to The Advocate; they have said “we have verified the pregnancy with Mr. Beatie’s gynecologist”. The man (Mr. Beatie) is expecting a baby girl around July 3, 2008 and the catch is he used to be a woman but now is a transgender male. Legally Mr. Beatie has changed sex to a male, so that does mean this Oregon man is pregnant…how weird is that?
He married Nancy Beatie legally but because she cannot carry a baby, they decided Mr. Beatie would have the baby because when he changed sex the vagina was kept (the breasts were surgically removed).
He is a Transgender pregnant male, but what do you make of this and do you think keeping a vagina still classes you as a man?

The thing is, this is not really a man. Ya ok, so she took some shots and had her boobs lobbed of, but sex is a biological fact, not a state of mind.

i think this is interesting. i think he/she is still a woman if he/she has a vagina. as much as he/she wants to be a man, being a man is a state of mind. if he/she can still give birth and keep their vagina, they are much more of a woman than the man that they want to be, in my opinion.
if you are born female, you are always female. sex changes do not change your gender, just your outside appearance.

It’s kind of funny people will call him disgusting or ask if he used his own sperm to impregnate himself…
I understand this is a controversial but personally if it doesn’t affect you than it shouldn’t be something you worry about
we don’t know if he ran to the news looking for attention or not, but its also the publications fault for building up this story across the country
if she wants to be a man let her, if he wants to be prego, let him – lets just hope the birth goes okay and the baby is healthy and ell

There is a difference between sex and gender. Sex is the genitalia you have, whereas gender is a state of mind.
