i think this is interesting. i think he/she is still a woman if he/she has a vagina. as much as he/she wants to be a man, being a man is a state of mind. if he/she can still give birth and keep their vagina, they are much more of a woman than the man that they want to be, in my opinion.

if you are born female, you are always female. sex changes do not change your gender, just your outside appearance.

This whole story is confusing because in another artical posted on AOL it says something about when having a “sex change” it is not required to surgically change your insides and that is why he was able to get pregnant. That he is now a man but still has female organs…they had to do a an invitro to get pregnant, therefor, does this not imply he now has a penis on the exterior…there are alot of blanks in this story, who knows if it’s true!

I am all for gays, lesbians, and transgender’s but I dont think you should have the goods of both worlds. If you WANT to be a man then go all out or should I say “go balls out” and be a man… same for if you want to be a woman. Why would this even be news?!?! Just thought I’d put it out there.

I feel that I am an open-minded person and I respect all choices people make in their own personal lives. However I am a bit baffled that this story is news at all. Mr. Beatie is hardly the first “transgender male” to have a baby. And whether or not Mr. Beatie is a man or a woman depends on how you define man and woman. Legally Mr. Beatie is a man, but biologically, there is nothing about him that’s male. Again, I can hardly believe this story made such news. Thanks a lot Oprah.
