India Mobile News: more cell phone users than US by April 2008

They have said the mobile phone segment has seen an increase of “8.53 million subscribers in the month of February 2008 and 8.77 million subscribers in January 2008”; this now takes India’s total wireless phone users to 250.93 million. This is phenomenal growth and much more than China and the US in the same months, TRAI makes the prediction that India will take second place by April 08 in total subscriber base. The worlds first are China.
This growth will keep increasing for a long time yet as only 1 in 4 Indians have a phone.
