Sony PS3 firmware update v2.20 will feature BD-Live interactive Blu-ray this month

Sony have recently announced the next Sony PS3 firmware update v2.20, it will feature BD -Live interactive Blu-ray this month, oh yes the Blu-ray 2.0 spec or what they call BD-Live is close to launch people.

This new addition will add on new interactive features to your PlayStation 3 and you should all expect to download video content, interactive movie-based games and ringtones and as you guessed it, a whole lot more when it is released.

So within the next ten days roughly you will see this update, it will also allow you to copy photos and music play lists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP.

Here are some more features to sink your teeth into -

1. Audio Output Device” will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP
to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
2. DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable
3. PS3 system’s Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly
linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser’s
view speed will be improved
4. Mosquito Noise Reduction” will be added as an AV setting in the control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback
5. Resume play” will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc
and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed
6. 1 BD-J format disc is not supported
7. 2 BD discs recorded with BDMV format are not supported

    OMG lol

    where is the update to play your music at the same time as playing my game
    this is a joke
    i remember before the ps3 came out
    they use to advertise it as a multi app machine but it can do 2 things at the same time loool
    is this funny or is it just me ?
    and what about the to small USB cable that come wit the joypad another joke
    if your pad power dies u have to plug it and when you do so that mean or you stop and let charge or you play with your face in the screen
    come on please SONY wake up please
    i bought the PS3 full price and im far from happy with it
    but for now it seems to be th best thing on the market in my eyes anyway
    one other thing i remember our first little grey box called playstation i use to put a cd on it and like by magic i would have some phat visuals pop on my screen but now i got the NEXT GEN KILLER MACHINE called PS3 and when i put a cd in i get some very really very poor and so so so dissapointing crap visuals
    can someone help me out on this one
    because i feel a bit lost lol
    PLAYSTATION 1 better visual then PS3 loooool
    yeah i know we get updates now them days
    but we get crap updates what about the one we really need
    i think SONY need to wake up
    well that’s about it i just needed to say my piece

    PS: and stop the bloody remakes of the sequels of the remakes lol

    this interactive add in 2008 is a joke when hd dvd had it in 2005 among other things. all those features were around in the hd dvd format but it to bad sony won the war by paying for it. i guess they had to to keep the ps3 from being a flop. umd, mini disk, and betamax all failed prior to bluray.
