Welcome to the world’s cheapest car at only $2450, yes the car called the Tara Tiny will be replacing the Tata Nano. The price is amazing at 99,000 Indian Rupees ($ 2450) and runs on electricity.

This car was developed by Tara International, some of the features on the car are pretty basic but come on what do you want for the price a Rolls Royce, the Tara Tiny can seat 2 people and can be recharged daily at 220 volts through 15 amp sockets, a 8 hour charge enables the cars to travel 80 - 100 kilo meters.

The downside to the Electric Tara Tiny has to be the fact it will only reach a top speed of 50 km/hr (31 mph), which is not bad for urban driving. This will only come in left hand drive only and has been slated for export in the USA.

  2. Do you really need a motorcycle licence to drive a 3-wheeler in the US? The Aptera Typ-1 EV is also a three wheller but will not require a motorcycle licence…At least thats what their homepage says.

I don’t think that car will make it to our streets in Europe or the US at that price. But it will put some pressure on other car makers to follow the example to go electric.

It may vary by state, but in my state, at least, if the vehicle is classed as a motorcycle, one needs a motorcycle license to operate it. Because it’s low-speed and low-power, some states may let you get by with a lower class of motorcycle license. It makes a certain amount of sense to me to require the license — driving with a single front wheel is a different experience, especially when dealing with rough roads or inclement weather.

On the other hand, I would be willing to bet that a good number owners of ZAP Xebras don’t have motorcycle licenses, and the dealers I’ve run into don’t make a point of mentioning it.

@ Jeffrey B. — Other sites list the top speed as 60-70 kph, which is in line with the Xebra and too fast for the Federal LSV exemptions. Various other sources also note its similarities to the Xebra with a different front end. Regardles, my point was that you can buy the Tiny or a substantially similar vehicle in the US right now, and the price is around $11,000.

  9. Please sell the car to Indonesia. You will find huge amount of customers who want to buy it. I believe you can surpass toyota as leading car manufacture in Indonesia. Come Chinese brand already successfully infiltrate to Indonesian market. But, when Tara Tiny’s coming, i think everybody will stop buying other, and swift to buy this best product.

If Tata Tiny company want to publish dealership announcement, Indonesian car distributors will be so glad to market this beautiful car.

    hi from Creta , Greece
there is a growing demand for eco friendly vehicles here , due to the rise of gas cost and because many parts of the old towns have restricted the pass of cars and motorbikes.
i am very interested to represent this little miracle in my island.
