David Archuleta’s Audition: best American Idol contestant or not

It has been reported that David Archuleta who was tipped to win this years American Idol has lost the top spot after he forgot the lyrics to The Beatles “We Can Work it Out,” and its said that he never recovered from the mistake.
Judge Randy Jackson dubbed his uninspired performance “very forced,” while Simon Cowell bluntly called it “a mess.”
So is David still the Best contestant on American Idol this year?
