We want to ask you a little question on VoIP applications on Apple iPhone, the question is “Do we really need it?
We all know about the SDK event with many applications coming our way to the Apple iPhone and there have been a number of questions flying around about these apps and future ones too and the question above is one that we would love answered.
Well yes VoIP applications a possibility on Apple iPhone according to Steve Jobs, he stated that VoIP applications are a possibility for the iPhone. Being more specific Steve Jobs said that as long as this app is not using the mobile carrier’s network the VoIP functionality in applications will be allowed.
“If an Application requires or will have access to the carrier network, then additionally such Application may not have Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) functionality.”
So this in fact means that VoIP over WiFi will indeed be allowed on the Apple iPhone, well only if someone out there is willing to write an app to do that is.
So once again “Do we really need it?
