Church of Scientology wants David and Victoria Beckham

A former Scientologist has claimed that the head of the Church of Scientology is trying his best to try and land David and Victoria Beckham. Marc Headley has made claims that David Miscavige is so focused on trying to recruit the Soccer star and his wife, that he has a wall of photographs of Tom Cruise out with the couple.

Headley also claims that Miscavige already tried to lure the Beckham’s by asking them to make a guest appearance at Gold Base the Church of Scientology’s headquarters. However they did not take up the offer.

    Andrew Morton’s biography of Tom Cruise seems to imply that there is some accuracy to this rumour.

    However, as with all celebrity rumours, the general public must take them with a grain of salt.

    I suspect that the Beckhams are enjoying hanging out with Mr. Cruise and Mr. Miscavige, with all the perks such outings can offer.

    However, more and more celebrities are realizing that the CoS has a serious PR problem with the general member of the public. Even those who may have dabbled with the church are backing away and denying they are members (such as Will Smith and Kimora Lee Simmons).

    Prominent CoS celebs are making PR missteps (Tom Cruise acting wild-eyed and manic on Oprah, Bohdi and Jenna Elfman accosting a man on the street and asking if he “rapes babies” because he was wearing a snarky anti-CoS t-shirt). The Beckhams would be well-advised to steer clear.

    Being love-bombed by other famous folks, however, can be extremely hard to resist. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
