US Air Force wants 300 Sony PS3’s (NOT Xbox 360’s) for technology assessment

I know this post will attract many Xbox 360 gamers who are blind to the facts…but here we go. The US Air Force wants 300 Sony PS3’s for a so called “technology assessment”, although they are keeping the details hush hush.
When it comes to gaming the Xbox 360 has an amazing collection of games and a massive following, although the hardware is known for it’s problems. The Sony PS3 is obviously a much better hardware build and in the US Air Forces own words, the Playstation 3 is the “only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost.”
So other than gaming and Blu-ray movies, this is just another vote for the power of the PS3 from the Air Force Research Laboratory.

This is the DEFINITON of fanboy… and not just a console fanoby, but a COMPANY fanboy. The fact that you posted a story that lauds the non-gaming applications of a game console just shows you to be a dyed in the wool Sony fanboy. I’m not going to fall for Sony tooting their own horn about something unreleated to gaming. It’s dumb and it’s fishing for gullible people like you.
People like you want to believe in the “magic” of a piece of technology, and stories like this build the tech up to be more than it really is.
This just in, The US Air Force just ordered 300 copies of Army Of Two for ps3, 300 white italian leather couches, and tons of extra spicy chicken wings to assess their operatives’ co operational aptitude as it relates to the Ps3 cell processors.
Xbox 360 fanboys were seen protesting outside the pentagon for they they refered to as favoritism that may put the nation in harm’s way.
I love looking reading these forums for all of the fanboy talk. This tidbit of an article was pretty interesting to me. It’s not breaking news but why must people who own another game console get all up in arms? The writer was not trying to blast the 360, or overly laude the ps3 imo. Who gives a shit if you own a 360 and not a ps3, why waste your time arguing for your console in an article basically says, “the 360 has good games but the ps3 is more reliable and powerful.”
the 360 has experienced a 25-30% failure rate.

Similar RAM and a better processor in the ps3 gives the ps3 the edge there too.

Well, I think the key thing to point out here, is that they purchased 300. It’s not like they bought just 1, and was like, “Oh this is super!” whatever it is there doing it takes “300″. Super Computer? AI? Rule the world j/k

I really don’t care much about the whole console war either. My interest are purely for practical reasons. I plan on getting a PS3, and it is in my best interest that game companies produce good for it. That’s all there is to it. I really don’t have anything against the Xbox 360, other than the fact that I’m not planning on getting one because it doesn’t have any games that I want.
There are lots of fanboys out there, but I’d also be willing to bet many people share pretty much the same stance as me.
This just in - The Pentagon actually ordered 300 X360’s first but upon hook up 299 of them got RROD right out of the box.

PLAYSTATION 3 is the only real high definition gaming system capable of unlimited processing power needed to run real high tech technology. Ublike Xbox 360 is built by biggest idiots here in the USA it has a massive failure rate no HD movie drive and just FPS games nothing else but crap. PS3 will always be #1.
