Xbox 360: worst console ever created, eats discs and RROD
I know that this will upset thousands of gamers, but it does seem as if the Xbox 360 is the worst games console that was ever created. The thing is you need to have a look at some facts, Microsoft’s games console likes to eat discs. My brother was playing Forza 2, when his Xbox 360 decided that it was hungry and started to devourer the disc, what was left was a disc that was badly scratched.

And that is not all; many people are on their second Xbox as the first got that dreaded RROD. I had an Xbox and had it for just under a year, and then I got that Red Ring of Death. I was upset, however thankfully I had it repaired free of charge from Microsoft.

Since I purchased my Sony PS3; my Xbox 360 seems to be gathering dust. Maybe I might give it away to someone or use it as a doorstop, well it is bulky enough.

NO matter what 360 fanboys accuse this site of doing there is no denying the appaling failure rate of the 360’s and the eating disk problem,…. and the not being able to read disk problem…. oah yea and the not ejecting the disk problem…. and obviously the RROD….. oah yea and the huge amount of noise pollutuion you could almost mistake it for a jet engine.

The ps3 is a master piece of technology, all of the stuff inside it and it has an incredibly low failure rate and runs with a silent hhhhuuuummmm and well the wii I love that little sleek white box that need almost no ventilation

These compared to the huge clanking and clunking melting 360s…. im on my fourth one

and at some idiot who thought the guy who wrote the article was moving his 360 when it scratched. He didnt move it the 360 scratched the disk on its own accord, the same for me it was just sitting there and I hear weird noises coming from it then i eject the disk and theres a masive grey cirle going around the disk and I don’t want to shell out another £ 40
    for COD 4

I am already on my second xbox. The system itself is terrible. But the games and the online network make up for it right now. I also have a ps3 and I’m sure by the end of this year it will be my primary console. It does amaze me though that my xbox 360 which I got in 2005 died and I’m already on my second one while my regular Nintendo which I got in 1990 works just as good as the day I got it. Even my dad’s old Intellevision still works better then a 360 ever will.

    Thats a review?
What you failed to mention was the volume numbers of the 360 vs PS3 and the noted repair work on each.

Now that the PS3 is selling better it too has had numerous repair issue that are just now being posted around the net.
I’m one of those that has already turned mine in for an exchange.

What about the Wii? No offense but the Wii is being completely ignored. PS3 and X360 aren’t the only consoles. Some hard core gamers might discount the Wii as a low quality system and not a big deal but they are being purchased in large numbers and there is still a shortage in Wii supply as demand continues to outstrip supply.

The Wii also has good graphics it is not designed as a HD based console — however, the graphics are still great. Take a good look at Super Mario Galaxy: it has amazing graphics.

I don’t like the PS3 although I was a big PS2 fan — the reason being the Blu Ray junk. Don’t get me wrong its nice that Sony wants to offer Blu Ray playback via the PS3 but its mandatory that PS3 come with Blu Ray according to Sony policies — at least X360 offers a standalone HD DVD drive — it isn’t forced on the consumer you can buy X360 without HD DVD — what’s more the Blu Ray stuff is what caused the PS3 to have such a high price tag in the first place. As Sony is struggling to regain lost market share on PS3 they are making price cuts on PS3 but the damage is already done. The more they advertise Blu Ray in PS3 the less likely I’ll buy one.

A games console first and foremost should have good exclusive games and a good selection of cross platform games also. The PS3 was released with a weak selection of games. They are focusing more on media playback than games. A games console should have games first and media playback second. I don’t mind PS3 offering media playback but Sony is putting games on the back burner — that is it falls short on games. Until they improve the availability of good games — they are starting to come out with more games apparently (at least I think they are) but they have a long way to go still.

Focus more on games and offer multi-player gaming online like XBox Live does. XBox has its own faults but has some pros too in the XBox Live department for games. Micro$oft customer service is a joke. Sony’s Blu Ray also has copy protection built-in which is bad for consumers although the studios like it. Some suggest since Blu Ray won the disc format war it will help PS3 sales well even then I’m not buying a PS3 even if the price went down to $100 unless they get some great games and put more emphasis on games than media playback.

My launch console (360) made it till last week when it RROD. My launch elite’s drive went out a 4 months after I got it, the replacements video went out a month ago. Xbox 360 is the biggest piece of crap when compared to every game system ever made. Bought a ps3 over the holidays and I like it, but have my fingers crossed that the available good game situation improves sooner than later. I WILL be buying all future cross-platform games for my ps3, except Condemned 2 cause I have a feeling the ps3 version will be seriously sub par.

You only have to look at the articles on this piss poor excuse for a website to see that they only ever get hits when they write a dumb fanboy story like this one as they really arent capable of anything better, if anybody connected with this site is any older than 12 i’d be truly shocked as my 10 year old nephew could put together better stories than these clowns.

Isn’t it about time Product Reviews wrote about something other than the wars between the xbox 360, ps3 and wii, i mean come on - you’re meant to be reviewing products, not crawling up Sony’s ass.

huh not surprised. microsoft has done jack sh*t. should i purchase a mac or pc?, its a wise decision. anyway i know 5 PEOPLE who have AT LEAST had 1 problem with their 360. while my PS3 is in tip top condition (for how long, lol). To be honest 360 is a good console and the PS3 is the biggest downside, well for now.

  10. ben says:

I enjoy and love my 360

but there is always a part of me what says Microsoft did make a silly mistake at rushing the console to market

I must be on my 6th 360 but i dont mind, Microsoft has learnt tehre lesson and in doing so they have loss a huge amount of money to try and fix the problem.

What i recommend everybody to do is in future consoles Purchase from companies like Argos, liek i did. If my 360 breaks down (liek my last 5) i just quickly packed it up went back to argos and got a swap there and then you only waste 1hr of your time compared to having to wait upto a month.

and the warranty also gets refreshed becouse its classed as a new console ;)

anyway to the author he is right but also whats the friggin point of posting your problems all you are doing is stiring up the all ready over the top fanboy racism.
