Sony PS3 Vertical or Horizontal: how do you like it?

Lately I have moved my Sony PS3 back and forth, between the main living room and the more quiet conservatory a few times to see which room is better for gaming. While I have been doing this, the Playstation 3 has sometimes been in the normal horizontal position and other times in vertical with a stand.
I am lost at which way I prefer; currently the 42inch Plasma in the living room and with the Sony PS3 in a vertical position looks best.
How do you like your Sony PS3, Vertical or Horizontal and have you found any advantages or problems in the operation in either position.

Actually, the PS3 is designed so that it’s cooling performs better when stood horizontal, contrary to the idea of heat rising and all that. the airflow through the system actually keeps it runing cooler. This is actually quite noticable when playing some games as the system is alot quieter when horizontal. take a look at this if you don’t believe me…

i understand the system to be quieter when vertical. in the horizontal position the fans work harder to vent.
plus, it looks nice vertical.
I prefer mine rammed up your @rse!
No offence :o)
lol up ur ass uno, thats jokes.
i have mine horizontal cos the surface its on is a little wobbaly lol
by the way, have any of you noticed that over the year and a bit of ps3 bein out, the speed at which the disc gets loaded or ejected has slowed? cos it has in mine
i keep it horizontal due to restrictions…but i wud prefer vertical
Mines Vertical, without a stand, but if I move it to another TV or something I usually put it horizontal.
The writing is the right way up when its vertical…
If you leave it vertical its prone to get dust inside the system so leaving it horizontal would be the best position technically but vertical does look badass.
