It seems a very good thing that Gadgetell have put forward, and that is a very important and growing question which is “Is it time we switch to Mac? And that is why we are asking “Should we all switch to Apple Mac?

Many people swear by Microsoft and I must say I still use Microsoft because it is what I am used to, being that one family member has moved over to Mac and he swears by that.

I am not going to go on and on about this because the question is very simple to answer without making things difficult, it seems today though that Microsoft have made a play for how in fact Windows Mobile is their way forward in the Market which is at this years CES keynote. It seems the mobile phone industry is getting bigger each year and Windows Mobile phone will integrate with business. Oh yes and where is Windows Vista going because to tell you the truth I do not like it personally but hey that is me.

Apple is very interesting when you think about it because they have many things going on I mean they have the iPhone, the MacBook Air and Leopard and the future looks promising for them.

So please answer this question “Should we all switch to Apple Mac?

Microsoft is fading, lacking innovation/integration, vision and STYLE. Better to be an Apple snob than a Microsoft prole.
    Cheers!

Mark, thanks for picking up on my story. I think many IT folk are wondering, “what next” and Apple may come out on top because it is sleek, sexy and fun.

That said, I think the PC I use to write this is planning on a mutiny…

    Again, thanks.

Please don’t. If you all do that, Apple will become new Microsoft and then we won’t have quality products anymore. And then, Apple is not for the grey, faceless, majority.

  4. I think Switching to Mac is a great idea, maybe not for everyone but for many!

As a Mac users since 2000 and someone who is loving the Leopard experience you’d think I’d say switch to Mac for sure. However I do think diversity and competition (a dirty word for Microsoft) is a good thing so I wouldn’t want everyone to switch. The fact that so many people are at least now considering switching to a Mac is a good thing and shows Apple is doing something right. PC publications rating Leopard better than Vista doesn’t hurt either and neither does the fact that you can run Windows on a Mac if you really need to.

I have to use Windows PCs here and there and doing so makes me appreciate my Macs and OS X at home.

The important thing is to have a good look at what Macs have to offer and see if your life will be better with one, safe in the knowledge that if you get a Mac then you can still slum it by installing Windows too.

I am obviously a Mac user, but no not EVERYONE should switch. If a person has no desire to become more integrated with their computer activity - and many don’t - where you are is fine. If all you want is the internet and basic utility, stay where you are go for the basic machine.

But if you are a business and want to save money, have to get a big ROI, don’t have time for IT-issues and want to reduce your lifetime costs and re-mission your assets easily - One OS, any machine, SW elegance and simplicity for complex tasks - Apple Tech is soooo viable.

If you don’t know what you want to do, but you have high hopes - curious and talented kids - retired folks with a desire to do something online or create your own media, learn Open Source programming, learn biology or structural design - relatively speaking cost is the same as if you are on a windows machine but the software cost? SOooooooo Low.

    Think differently! Think for yourself.

  7. Mac is much more expensive than PC. If you have big pockets, switch to Mac. You will be paying for everything. Apple even charges for .Mac online service. The quality between Mac and PC is in the eyes of beholder, not in the price. I use both Mac and PC, diversity rocks, competition is welcome.
