The source shown below (The Cut Scene) has reported that while DreamWorks CEO Jeffey Katzenberg was churning out earnings numbers to some analysts on a conference call, he got the good old finger and pointed it out to video games is killing DVD Movie sales.
Video games have had a massive impact on the overall home video market and even the performance of individual titles, including the movie Shrek the Third. Personally I find this hard to believe that gamers are having an impact on movie sale losses, can it be true that gamers are so engrossed in their games that they have no time to watch DVD movies?
I would say that Blu-ray may have had a big impact on DVD sales but not video games, and mentioning Shrek 3 is pointless anyway because it was crap and I would rather play games anyway rather than watch titles like that.
All I can say is if DreamWorks make better movies then the sales would rise, do you agree with me?
