Do you clean your Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 fans with a low power vacuum cleaner?

When it comes to computers, keyboards, and fans in your Xbox 360 and Sony PS3…how many of us keep them clean. It’s so easy to buy some new gadget and just use it without any thought about maintaining it or even reading the manual on what you should do.

Did you read the manual and do you keep your devices clean from dust and stuff?

How many Xbox 360’s would not get the RROD if the fans were cleaned daily with a low power vacuum cleaner, from today I am making sure I clean my Playstation 3 fans as they were full of dust.

Wow! Interesting topic! No really it was. I usually use a dust sweeper or a blower machine to keep my 360, PS3, Dreamcast, N64, Sega Genesis, Playstation, Xbox, Super Nintendo, and Atari clean :)

As it so happens I do, someone bought me one of those mini-vacs to clean your computer keyboard and such which I never used.

But one day while cleaning I found it in a drawer and realised it would be perfect for navigating the PS3’s holes and curves. Now I use it about once a month…

The PS3 is the first console I’ve felt the need to look after as such though, maybe because I consider it as more than just a console, maybe because it cost 400 big ones, or maybe it’s because if it ever broke I’d be forced to “downgrade” to a 40GB unit.

Not if you buy an extra hardrive with a larger capacity :)

Yes I do, and not low power - I used the upholestery attachment (soft brush) on a 1700W vacuum. Always used that on the PS2 - never a problem…

I have never EVER cleaned a console until I bought the PS3. It is a dust magnet. No matter how often you wipe it down, anti static wipes, and all it collects dust. I use a compressed air can to blow the dust around inside and vacuum it out with my home vac attachment..works really well. Probably not all that neccesary, but I like a clean dust free home.

I’ve never cleaned any system ive ever owned. I hope this does not effect the new systems tho. i never cleaned my ps2 and i bought it at launch and is working fine till this day. my ps3 hasent been cleaned yet and works fine also but you can tell more dust will collect in that puppy. as for 360, no point cleaning it cuz its gonna bust regardless.
