Will David Archuleta Win American Idol?

Can anybody beat David Archuleta on American Idol?
David is a fantastic singer and is quite possibly the best thing that American Idol has ever had in the competition and whether he wins or not he is sure to get some kind of deal out of this.
On Tuesday night, David performed his own version of John Lennon’s incredible “Imagine”. His vocals were amazing and that was perhaps the best cover of that song we have ever heard.
David is one of the youngest finalists on the show winning a spot in the top twenty at seventeen years old.
It’s said that David once suffered partial vocal paralysis but refrained from risky surgery and feels he has fully recovered.
What do you think has America found its winner before the show has really got started?

David is absolutely awesome. Jeannie, I really don’t know what you were listening to last night, but it certainly could not have been this kid. Laurie and Steve, you are both right. He said this was his favorite verse, that it was more meaningful to him, and also jazzed did not even come to my mind. They are supposed to make it their own and he did just that. It did not take anything away from Lennon’s version…I also think he would be very proud of that rendition.
I can’t stop listening to David singing Imagine by John Lennon on You Tube. That was my favorite song, David, my God, I have goose bumps and I can’t stop the tears. Mr. Lennon would be very proud. David, you truly are a shinning star and you will do great things. I will keep you in my prayers, there is something sweet and kind about you please never loose that. Your parents should be very proud.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME thats all I can say about David. He was born to sing…TALENT, PERSONALITY, LOOKS, HE HAS THE WHOLE PACKAGE!! Will go far with or without American Idol, However, I hope HE WINS.. HE SHOULD!!!

David is one in a million, with a god-gifted talent. He is blessed to have it. David possesses the ability to entrance the audience and attract an ovation—a very huge one! I am a BIG FAN of you and I love your voice!!!

Kidd5 - yes! Josh Groban! I agree with you 100%. Josh Groban is one of my favorite young singers, and David will be another one. I’m already looking forward to him having a CD out so I can buy it.
I also got a big kick out of reading that one of David’s first inspirations for singing was the Les Miserables 10th anniversary video. I LOVE that video and have watched it many times. I’d love to hear David sing something from Les Mis, but I doubt that would go over well on Idol!!
