Three More Join Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island

The cast of Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island is pretty great already. How could you improve on Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams and Patricia Clarkson? Well you add Emily Mortimer, Jackie Earle Haley and Max Von Sydow of course! Just goes to show, when you’ve got a director as great as Scorsese, no one says no!

Shutter Island is based on Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name. It follows the story of two US marshalls (DiCaprio and Ruffalo) who are investigating the disappearance of a woman from a mental facility on a Massachusetts island. Their job faces some hurdles including a hurricane, lying hospital staff and an inmate riot!

Mortimer is set to play the escaped woman, Haley an inmate and Von Sydow a hospital physician.
