Hotmail Outage: Microsoft e-mail users having trouble gaining access

The Hotmail email service from Microsoft seems to be suffering from an outage; many users have complained that they can’t get into their e-mail accounts. According to Global and Mail Microsoft Corp. have said that they are experiencing technical difficulties.
A spokesperson from Microsoft Corp. stated “We’re having some sporadic issues with the Windows Live login,” they then went on to say “We’ll be working as fast as possible to get up and running.”
It is not known how many users are affected by this Hotmail Outage and how many countries it is affecting, however rest assured that Microsoft are working on a solution to this problem.

yes it’s been effecting me for the past 5 hours. It is disgraceful, what if people have important information they need to access from their email account? Another concern is whether or not email sent while the service is down will bounce or if it will be available when the service is up and running again.
My non-updated-to-Live friend is fine and I’m getting punished for having upgraded

Your email service is sub par. Get it together.
Its strange to see users of a *free* service whining on the outage. If you have important stuff, get a PoP account.
