Hotmail Outage: Microsoft e-mail users having trouble gaining access

The Hotmail email service from Microsoft seems to be suffering from an outage; many users have complained that they can’t get into their e-mail accounts. According to Global and Mail Microsoft Corp. have said that they are experiencing technical difficulties.

A spokesperson from Microsoft Corp. stated “We’re having some sporadic issues with the Windows Live login,” they then went on to say “We’ll be working as fast as possible to get up and running.”

It is not known how many users are affected by this Hotmail Outage and how many countries it is affecting, however rest assured that Microsoft are working on a solution to this problem.

    yes it’s been effecting me for the past 5 hours. It is disgraceful, what if people have important information they need to access from their email account? Another concern is whether or not email sent while the service is down will bounce or if it will be available when the service is up and running again.

    Its strange to see users of a *free* service whining on the outage. If you have important stuff, get a PoP account.

    if this ever happens again i reckon there should be a alternative so people can still access their emails,

    not that im complaining because it is free!!!! And thats GREAT, because nothink these days are free anymore….

    Today for the first time hotmail is down for me here in Melbourne Australia. I have tried again and again but the page would not even build up. I cannot acsess my mail… Hope for quick recovery.

    Jesus guys give them a break , think about it , windows live messenger caters for hundreds of thousands of people , possibly millions , it cant be expected to run smoothly all the time ffs
    It’s back up and running now anyway , so just chillax,

    Not only that- ,but script disappears (even paragraphs)when writing mail in Vista. It is happening to lot’s of people- and is nothing new. The ‘help’ links sent by Microsoft folks do nothing to help. It seems like thousands of ‘primo’25 y.o.software designers paid up the yin-yang- could have come up w/something that works. I went to G-mail. : (

    when ilog on to my computer,i must enter a password,that i don’t know.every password i enter isn;t the right one.if i signed up for something,that i was’nt sure of i want it deleted.i ,for now just want my yahoo email acct.

    It would have been the business thing to do if you all could have sent a “flash message” to all the hotmail users. This is very inconvenient. Also Why is it so hard to find out how to send a message to you guys. I am a long time user and I would like to stay with you all. I’m sure there are a lot or users just don’t know what to do or where to turn, except to get another provider. Oh, that’s not good at all. Surely this isn’t technology at its best…or is it. You can’t even notify me of any followups via email. Oh, that’s not good either.

    I upgraded to windows live and have not been able to get back into hotmail on this computer since – sorry I updated – I should know better by now!

    My hotmaill has been out for 3 days!!!!!!! It used to be just one account (i have 3 for website/ gaming puposes) then the whole site crashed after 3 hours on day 1.

    Ms plz fix this my mom is pissed and confused!

    y’know, this is officially the best bad joke I’ve ever lived. my Hotmail account is inaccessible from Microsoft’s very own Internet Explorer (the default browser to open hotmail with a windows live messenger), but on Mozilla Firefox, it’s no problem.

    I lol’d hard and sloppily.
