DAP Collar & Diffuser: Calming Effect for your Pooch

I have heard a lot of people talk about DAP diffusers and my mother bought one for her dog in the house. They do work. DAP stands for Dog Appeasing Pheromone. It can be used for when you dog is anxious and it will calm their nerves. The pheromone is similar to those given off by a nursing bitch to her pups, which gives them the feeling of comfort and safety.

I am myself considering either the DAP collar or the DAP diffuser this year when it comes around to the dreaded bonfire night. My large dog is terrified of fireworks and he has to be given sleeping pills so he is out for the count when they start. I will still keep them as a back up, but rather than giving him drugs I would rather try this first.
