Devolo
Devolo who are the Powerline networking specialists will demo the Ethernet-over-the-mains prototype which is capable of churning out up to 400Mb/s bandwidth, so far so good hey.

The 400Mb/s unit gets prepped by Powerline Ethernet specialist Devolo but the details are be kept hidden in a dark place until they show the kit off at the CeBIT show in Hannover.

Does this mean that the kit will consist of two separate 200Mb/s HomePlug AV that sit side by side between the mains power cables and a Gigabit Ethernet port? Who knows only they will tell you when they are ready we guess.

So if you pair 200Mb/s adaptors that means Devolo will essentially double up the available bandwidth, Just as 200Mb/s powerline Ethernet doesn’t deliver that perfect-world throughout which means 400Mb/s units will only deliver the real world speeds of up to 180Mb/s.

But that still double what a 200Mb/s unit can provide which is still sufficient, the firm did claim five HD video streams to be routed over the network all at the same time though. Please read the full story here.
