Dust on Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 gets all gaming time

Nintendo Wii beaten by Sony PS3
Although I love the Nintendo Wii, I never seem able to give it any gaming time as the Sony PS3 gets it all. The Nintendo Wii has been collecting dust, but I gave it a good go the other day by spending £160 on some new games and played for the evening because some family were over.

That was 4 days ago and since then it has not been used again, but the Sony PS3 has had many hours everyday on games like Call of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament III.

Am I the only gamer with the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii that has this problem, or do other gamers with both these systems find that the Wii only gets played when people are over at the most.

I sold my wii for this exact reason.

Same hear except I play my 360 constantly, and my Wii and PS3 just gather dust.

Like other people have said, the Wii is a party machine - I’ve never seen my family play any other games machine other than the Wii.

My girlfriends dad wants to go and buy one for himself!!

Cross the Wii with the PS3 with X-Box Live and then you will have the ultimate machine. Add High Def and throw in some VR for good measure - now that’s going to be the future of gaming!

I just want a console with games, but it seems that the PS3 will gain momentum. I agree the Wii isn’t the best for games its just good when mates come over. I think the Wii will die over the coming years, just wait and watch.

I like the comment the ps3 is a suped up ps2. roflmao that is soooo true. NOT! I would say the 360 is an identical peice of crap to the first xbox except it doesnt last as long. I would also say wii is exactly the same as a gamecube. Same games, same graphics just a rii-tarded controller.
A couple of my thoughts so far. Ive already predicted blueray winning back in 06. People laughed. Now they have new excuses why. I dont give a rats ass how arrogant sony is, microsoft and Nintendo are just as bad.
I say Nintendo is in its own class and really shouldnt even be debacled in this artivle. Its a quirky machine for ppl who like that. I find some things Nintendo makes to be a quick time killer if your bored. I gave 360 my
time for too long and they just continue to dissapoint. Square enix have cancelled any ffx releases on 360 after last year news they would make games for it. One reason is Microsoft cant figure out how to utilize its own HD.
And as far as hard core gaming lol. Ive played the same game for 4 years straight on top of other games and still make time to party with my freinds at certain times a week for the same game we always play. Thats hard core.
And im not talking gaylo matches after school.

Bought my wii 15 months ago and enjoyed wii sports but nothing after, even mario galaxy.
Got a ps3 in December and am totally hooked on COD4 and Fifa.

Until some high quality and addictive online games are released for the wii, it will continue to sit there only being played occasionally by family and friends but not by me.

How the hell does the garbage spouted from Product-Reviews.net get posted in google news?

This is *not* news, its just the inane ramblings of joe public.

It appears to me that people who like shooters and fifa are calling the Wii kiddy and saying it has no games.
In reality the Wii has alot of AAA games, and to be honest i find the likes of metroid and galaxy far more ‘hardcore’ than repetative shooters like Halo but there you go.
Im 22 and i also agree it seems to be kids calling the Wii a kids console, is that because your desperate to apper grown up? does playin a game like smash bros not make you look as hard?

i for one am not bothered about image, i play games because they are fun. Nothing on PS3 comes close to Mario Galaxy and Brawl will rule.
After playing Metroid with the Wiimote i just dont think i could go back to the old control sceme it is so limiting and seems dated now when controling FPS’s and menus.
The Wii really is the future, im sure the PS4 and xbox720 will prove this when they copy the Wiimote and aim more games at the casual market.
Also £180 is alot for a toy, thats really just a stupid comment, if you dont like the Wiis AAA games fine but that doesnt make it a toy it just means you have a bland taste in games.

    Well, I’ve had a PS3 since January 2007 and a Wii since August 2007.
I haven’t played the Wii since Thanksgiving, when my entire extended family was over. (we don’t have guests on Christmas…)
My PS3 gets 100% of my gaming time, and one game (warhawk) gets over 98% of my time.
My sister and two brothers never play any video games except Warhawk (I still like playing Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge and I also play Super Stardust HD sometimes because it has in-game custom soundtracks.)
The only person in my family who uses the Wii is my dad, and he only uses it like once a week.

I may get Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but I probably won’t.

I’ve owned my a PS3 since it’s launch, and a month ago I purchased the Wii. I have to agree, I play the Wii when I have friends or family over, but that’s once or twice a weeks at most. When I’m at home after work looking to kill time until I’m hungry, have a meeting, or til I’m tired I’m on my PS3. I bought Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Resident Evil, and Wii Play (all recommended by friends and/or family who have them), but the system lacks the realism that is required to envolope me in the story line.

I’ve rent some of the titles that online forums, magazines, and people I know considered to be GREAT Wii GAMES, but the best game so far is Mario Galaxy which annoys me that each level/world/galaxy requires me to point the Wii controller at my TV to collect star bits. I know it sounds simple, but it’s annoying to no end.

I only games I play regularly now are Madden 08 (07 on the rare occasion to play with a couple of friends who haven’t upgraded yet), UT3 and Rock Band. I never play Wii unless there are 3 or more people over who actually want to play.

Sorry Nintendo. I love your DS, but the Wii lacks any replay value to me.
