I Saw Madeleine McCann alive in French restaurant last week

It has been reported that a Dutch teenager has said that she saw missing British girl Madeleine McCann alive in a roadside restaurant in France last week.
Melissa Firing who is 18 told De Gelderlander newspaper she saw Maddie at L’Arche restaurant on a highway near the French city of Montpellier on February 15.
Melissa said that the child reacted when she called out her name but was quickly whisked away by a man.
Melissa told the paper she was sure the girl she saw was Madeleine because of the way she reacted when she called out her name, and because she was able to look her in the eyes. An adult man accompanying the child took her and left the restaurant quickly afterwards.
An unnamed official said that after viewing closed-circuit video footage, police investigators spotted a man and a young girl who indeed resembled the British girl, but determined it was not Maddie after a thorough inspection.

How can a police investigator determine it is not Madeleine by looking at the footage, surely it should be for the parents to view the footage and make an identification, or not as the case maybe.
Deborah – the French police have found the man and spoken to him. So it is not only the CCTV. The prosecutor said clearly that the British police are welcome to send an official request (the same kind as the PJ have to send every time) and it will be dealt with. But considering that the French police know who the man in question is then there is really no point is there?
The fact that the police may, or may not know who the man is, is not sufficient to identify the girl. Unless they have seen the actual girl, and she matches completely the girl on the CCTV, and this has not been stated. I have not seen anything that says the girl has been identified. Only that her identity has been ruled out by the police looking at CCTV footage, anything else is inferred. So my main point stll remains. As for how the parents get to see the footage is incidental - I made no point about that. But, I would hope for a case of identity the channels would not be too long and drawn out - in fact I would have hoped it would be immediate. It is not evidence for a case which is required but a simple identification. But, I am sure if a request is required from the British Police then that is probably in hand.
The chances that Maddie is alive are very good. This is indeed a proven fact. We should not dismiss any possible sighting but remain vigulent at all times. The perpertrator’s of this filthy crime MUST be brought to justice. France is naturally a good possibility of where Maddie may be. It is good to see so many people do not only think of themselves.
please let maddie go its not fair and think how kate and gerry feel there little angel has gone.if you are reading this you have got her stop now give her back or the police will catch you.she was only 3 and she has a right to live a life,
Call me old fashioned but to be frankely honest her mother should not have left her on her own any way, this would not have happened if she had not taken the risk. I dont think that it was just a man that took her i also think it is was a couple. Type in on google Madeline McCann and you will see for your self that there is a woman involved…

sophie you do realise that madeleines mum and dad do go on most web sites so be carefull wat u say. anyway………………all i hope is for maddie to be found so she is runighted with her family and live her life in peace please catch the person whos is doing all this
