Are Take That Still Great?: Gary Barlow hits out at The Brit Academy

It has been reported that Gary Barlow has hit out at the Brit Academy for failing to appreciate Take That. At the award ceremony on Wednesday they won awards for Best Live Act and Best Single, but Barlow is not happy that they only won in categories that were voted for by the public.
“It’s amazing that when the public get to vote we always do well. It’s brilliant. But it gets to me that whenever we have been nominated for other awards we always get overlooked” he said when speaking to The Sun.
The lost out on Best Group and Best Album to the Artic Monkey.
Is this just sour grapes from Gary Barlow and does he need to face the fact that Take That are no longer the group they once were.

I think gary is right, beautiful world was an amazing album. Take that are also by far the best group of 2007, better than the artic monkeys, they need to grow up, all they can do is get absolutly drunk, and slate take that off. Don’t get me wrong there songs are ok but there personalties need a bit a work, take that are much better, they have done best comeback in history. Take that are still good, and your stupid for saying there not, there amazing the best like ever, i went to see them in concert, late 30’s still break dancing and that, thats good. overall i think gary is damn right, all i can say is GO GARY!!!!!

If more people realised what goes on behind the scenes that other bands might not nessisarily be doing, wheras Take That have a lot going on that the public don’t know about.
It was brilliant that Take That won their awards which they truely deserve. I know I am not the only one who thinks The Arctic Monkeys were ungrateful for their awards which they have won repeatedly over the years, which I think might have gone to their heads.
Gary was right in what he said. This quote is out of context, therefore more was said over the matter and wasn’t ungrateful.

If they weren’t…how did they manage to have all their tour tickets (both in 2006 and in 2007) sold out in minutes???

Take That were the best, are the best, and always will be the best. It’s about time they were recognised by the music industry, but of course they (The Brits) wouldn’t dare do a thing like that. They’re a bunch of cowards and it’s about time there was someone at head office with some guts to acknowledge the wonderful talent which is TAKE THAT!!
Things need to change…The Brits are a laughing stock and favouritism is obvious to everyone.

Take That are amazing and Gary Barlow is right in saying they where overlooked, It may of been a good album by the Arctic Monkeys, But statistics prove that Beautiful World is miles better!

How many groups can boast that they have had 2 sell out tours and a multi million selling album all in the name of a ‘comeback’?
The group have matured, developed a true working partnership and will get bigger and greater over the coming years.
The group genuinely appreciate the 2 Brit awards that they received courtesy of the public vote (unlike the arrogant Arctics) and it is about time that the Brit committee formally recognise their achievements and reward them accordingly.
If, what has been written is true, well done Gary for making a stand. The Brits committee need to wake up and see what the music scene is all about at the moment- Take That are number 1

I agree with what Gaz says.AND what did the Artic Arseholes do?They went on stage,pissed as farts,burped into the microphone & then stomped off…Yeah great way of thanking your fans for buying your poxy album you bunch of wallys.At least Take That THANKED us fans for voting them best live act & sing.At least they didnt go on stage so legless they couldnt stand up aka ARTIC ARSEHOLES
