DVD vs Sony Blu-ray
Although many of us knew HD-DVD was going to lose to Sony Blu-ray, we were still shocked how quick it actually happened and I am sure it will be a lot longer before blu-ray beats DVD.

DVD vs. Sony Blu-ray: how long before blu-ray wins?

In the technology world, DVDs are very old as they launched around 1997 and Blu-ray is the future but this will take a long time to happen as it did for DVD’s to replace VHS (that was not long ago).

How long do you think it will be before DVDs are replaced and will another better format be out to replace Blu-ray before that?

It does not really matter whether Blu-Ray has beaten HD-DVD. Today we can download movies from the internet and play it on Ipod/MP3 Player,Hard Drive Media Player, PC or Laptop. Over 12 years ago we did not have these options, we where stuck with VHS. Yes you are right DVD has been around for 11 years.
