Apple Mac OS X 10.5.2 Leopard
Is the Apple Mac OS X 10.5.2 Leopard by far the best? Well according to PC Magazine and after having played around with it for three months they seem to think so, their quote to prove it says “By far the best consumer OS available”. Do you agree though?

They gave this operating system the full low down and despite minor problems that will not rock the boat so to speak, there are many new features that are practical like the automated backups, spreadsheet and document preview images in folders plus the notes and to-do lists integrated into the mail program.

Leopard is basically the best by far for the average user because it is polished and very easy indeed to use, Edward Mendelson reports for PC Magazine said Leopard is extravagantly overdressed for the jobs that it’s designed to do, and its pervasive eye-candy starts out looking dazzling but soon becomes distracting. Fortunately, from the beginning, the OS started out with options that let you put it on a low-eye-sugar diet, and the latest update has even more. The operating system got a cool 4.5 out of 5 stars.

  1. A Smith says:

I concur. As a user of XP, Vista, and MAC OX 10.5.x I agree with his conclusion. While it’s difficult to evaluate them side by side, doing the same tasks I think overall OS X does things better then XP or Vista. As more business class software is written or ported over to the OS X platform (and others I might add), I think you will see businesses investing their dollars into a much better, more stable computer.
