I have always thought that Concorde has been the ones of man’s greatest achievements, as it made it possible to travel over the Atlantic in a much quicker time than was ever possible. Sadly this supersonic jet is no longer in our skies, however we could be seeing something much bigger and faster in our skies, the A2 supersonic jet which uses Reaction Engines and will be capable of speeds up to 4,000 MPH.
This jet is being designed by Oxfordshire’s own Reaction Engines, to give you an idea how fast this new supersonic jet would be you could go from Europe to Australia in under five hours. The aircraft is still in its concept stage, but it could become a reality in less than 25 years time. The A2 supersonic jet is more than twice as fast as Concorde and will be able to seat 300 passengers.
