British Airways pilots having voted to strike, however according to BA no strike dates have been set yet. The British Airline Pilots Association have said the reason for the strike, is the proposed launch of the new transatlantic subsidiary. Balpa has about 3,000 members, and 86% percent of those voted to strike.
If the strike does go ahead, it will mean that it will be the first strike by British Airways staff since 1980. BA pilots have said that they have seen the same thing happen around the world, and say that they will not stand for it, which is why they voted for the strike.
