What the hell! It seems things have got all official about Sony selling their cell chip facilities to Toshiba for a staggering $835 million, these manufacturing facilities that Sony are selling are the same ones that make the cell and RSX chips that are in the PS3.
The $835 million deal is all happening on April 1st which we thought when we first found out it was an Aprils Fools joke, but we were mistaken as it is all official.
Just so you know Toshiba are also in a $16 billion partnership with SanDisk to make flash memory, it seems Sony are in heaven at the moment seeing as they have Blu-ray and it has won the format war. Poor HD DVD and poor Toshiba, but we all know Toshiba will come back fighting hard with something special up their sleeve.
