Knight Rider 2008: What Did You Think?

Knight Rider was big back in the 80’s but it seems the 2008 TV Movie wasn’t as successful. Although the cast was good and the new improved KITT was awesome, the movie failed to live up to fans expectations. However, as a pilot episode for a series, it has potential.
Val Kilmer excelled as the voice of KITT and it could be argued that the car was the only good part of the movie! The plot, about a bunch of bad guys who try to steal hard drives from Charles Graiman, was a little weak. It seemed the plot was there to just pave the way for impressive car chases.
I wasn’t really impressed by Knight Rider, but that’s just my opinion! I want to know, what did you think of Knight Rider?

This was the best show aver created in the History of the world EVER!!! Almost as good as the Original Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider of past days. With all the subliminal messages, makes me want to go out and buy a GT500… Second mortgage anyone?
I have to go with John S. on that one WAY too many commercials.. but the car was real NICE.. hopefully the rest of the episodes wont be about old relationships….and be more like the old knight rider !
As far as pilots go, Knight Rider 2008 was pretty average. I liked the cast, loved the car and the new voice for KITT. If they decide to push forward with a series, I’d like to see a little more moeat with the plot and stories. I have to say it gave me goose bumps when we first see KITT take off and we hear the new Knight Rider them music! Very cool! Where can I get an MP3 of that? All in all, I liked the movie and I hope they do give us a series. I’d definitely watch it.
Watching the show last night brought me back to the days that I watched the original religiously. The plot was def. weak but KITT made up for it for sure. I didn’t realize Val Kilmer was the voice for KITT. I’d def. watch the show if and when it gets it time slot. I can def. go w/o all the crap commercials they showed. It seemed like the show was on from time to time in between a ton of crap being slung to us via commercials. But then again they gotta pay the bills to so I can’t complain too much, then again who’s gonna listen anyways. LOL
I think the rebirth of K.I.T.T. was awesome! I was a fan of the orginal Knight Rider series and thus I’m able to compare the two and in doing so I always found David Hasselhoff to be a bit stiff moving in his fight scenes but I figured he’s a tall and well built guy and more suited to more hand to hand than jumping over car hoods and off roof tops. The newer Michael seems more athletic with smoother movements. The story line was needed to tie the past to the present and explaining the rebirth aspect. And having David Hasselhoff do a walkon during the furneral was great. Using the mustang was wonderful as I also drive a mustang (just not as talented as K.I.T.T.). It was also genius using the pony because there are a lot of mustang people out there so its a ready made fan base for the show. I sincerely hope the networks decide to continue this show in the new season as I for one will be watching for it. Good luck.
I must admit that as a fan of the original I was worried that the this movie would do too much in the way of connecting the dots of 25 years. As the movie stands for itself sure the plot was weak, but there have been A LOT of shows that have had weak pilots (even reshooting them) and go on to be successful. As it was stated by an ealier post, give it a shot for the long haul. Give the writers a chance to develop characters and plot lines. I will.
I liked it and thought it will make a great show. I like Val Kilmer, but thought that the voice could have been “more”.
I hate to judge a premier, because they usually get better after that.
But I definitely will watch if they make more.
The show was awesome! Some of the people who have made comments should pay better attention (Mary)! It stated in the movie how the bad guys found Sarah in Las Vegas. Pay attention people!
Get over it guys! It is a Ford Mustang (a lot better than GM crap!)
The original Knight Rider had a no name actor but the entire show was “driven” by the car!!!!
As a pilot, I thought is was alright. If anyone remembers, ALL shows started with an OK/good pilot. It takes time to develop a GREAT series. This one has potential. I just hope they don’t screw it up. I was watching the old series a couple of weeks ago, and I gotta say, it was cheesy. Most of us were young when we watched the original. Don’t forget it was also the 80’s. Our standards are much higher now, and really, how much can they do with a car? They sure did stretch to make a script back in the day. I will watch eagerly to see where it goes. If it goes bad, I will stop. Also, what age group are they targeting? It could be important.
