This one is something to read about, HDMI port on your HDTV or receiver but not on your Xbox 360? Get a load of that then. The Xbox 360 HDMI Conversion kit from MadCatz is now officially available for $89.99.
Ok it is now available but it will not give you true HDMI and all older Microsoft Xbox 360 owners who are looking at getting rid of their chunky and horrid component cables might want to think about the MadCatz HDMI Conversion Kit.
This adapter comes with Dolby Digital and DTS, cables, supports HDMI 1.3 and 1080p. But who the hell knows what the VGA-to-HDMI signal conversion will do to the quality of the picture.
See now this has me thinking “Is this Xbox 360 HDMI Conversion kit worth it?

The answer is YES.
I got this product and it works. It works relly good. I have compared it to Component on the older 360 and the Elite. It blows the component out of the water and it is only marginally, just marginally a little bit behind the Elite. It’s not that far behind to care. The Elite has richer colours but the MC Conv Kit is only a bit brighter compared to the Elite. All the graphics show up nicely compared to the component cables. I even ran it on a Samsung 1080i 32″ compared to a Samsung 46″ 1080P on components and it looked better on the 1080i tv. When you hook it up to a 1080P TV it’s just worth the money. Especially since it comes packed with a HDMI Cable and and Optical cable. If you have an older 360 and a HDTV, then you need to get this. Hands Down. I don’t know what it is about HDMI but it’s just better.
Wow, you must work for MadCatz
No I don’t I’m just someone who recently bought a HDTV and when I compared the look of my 360 pro to the Elite I could not believe the difference HDMI made in terms of Visuals and sound. I knew that the MadCats product was out there. I ordered it and now I;m very HAPPY about my purchase and I think for those looking for a soloution they should get this product. I looked for a review about this product in the early days when it was metioned and I could not find one except for the few reviews found on EBGames website. This is where I got mine. So I’m an early adapter who wants to put the word out that this is a good product. Thats all.
i would like to know where i can find this thing in canada? EB Games posibly? because it does not ship to canada from the madcatz/gameshark website.
Hi everyone, this thing is not a VGA to HDMI Convertion tool, and believe me I wish it was, I bought this think for my 360 pro and I was very disappointed of it poor quality, after doing some testing this is a component to HDMI Kit which is only good for gaming only if you are watching a DVD your XBOX will not Upconvert the signal like it does when using the VGA Cables, and the Tool also add to much Brightness that u can not even control, I think people that give good point to this tool are no HD experts sorry but this kit is worthless, if you don’t have an HDMI connection on your XBOX 360 use a VGA Cable it will do Upconvertion for your DVDs and Games up to 1080p.
Hey John,
I tried the VGA thing and all the colours look washed. Compoent looks better but I’m starting to think it all about the TV you have. The conversion kit works fine for me and I love it.
In response to Colin I ordered mine of EB in the US and they shipped it to me.
Hey John no duh its not a VGA to HDMI its a COMPONENT TO HDMI. They missed it in the info the 360 doesn’t even have a VGA connector unless your using the old intercoolers. also if you knew anything about VGA it cannot deliver HD like component or HDMI can. you possibly could have bought this cable for the wrong reasons and perhaps are dissatisfied with it.
