Is this rumor of Netflix’s move to stream video to both the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony Playstation 3 indeed true? Well according to a Netflix customer they are reporting that the company is emailing surveys announcing it.

We only go by the sources below so do not count our word on it, but the word is During the Netflix Q3 2007 Earnings Call, Netflix boss Reed Hastings had the following to say: “In terms of enabling the viewing of online content on the television screen, we are exploring a variety of options, including Internet connected, high definition DVD players, Internet connected game consoles, and dedicated Internet set tops, with a variety of partners, trying to understand the best ways to provide inexpensive viewing of online content on the television.”

This is all good news when it comes to expanding games consoles really, according to Seanbajuice many customers have confirmed that they have received the email which is basically asking patrons to participate in their survey which includes the following details for the Sony PS3.

It says: “Now you can watch movies from Netflix instantly by using your Internet-connected Playstation 3. Simply insert a special Netflix disc into your PS/3 to enable instant movie streaming. The disc is available from Netflix for a one-time fee of $3.”
The same details are as follows for the Xbox 360 which will work of course through Xbox Live.
