Mini Optical Disc Drive from Vmedia

It has been unveiled at the Mobile World Congress by Vmedia Research that there is a new format available in mobile entertainment.

“designed to bring the quality of a big screen experience and the simplicity of home entertainment to mobile consumer electronics.” Vmedia is a miniature optical format disc.

The first generation of Vmedia will be a single layer disk that has a 1GB capacity which will be able to hold, mobile phone wallpapers and ringtones. They are currently being shipped to mobile phone manufacturers, whilst the second generation slim drive will be shipping the last part of the year.
