Second Life on phones
It’s been revealed today at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, that NEC is to connect mobile phones and virtual worlds, namely “Second Life”. They will do this by placing a unique `NEC communicator` in the Second Life world.

This is really cool, as you can send text-oriented messages such as IP Messaging, email and SMS from Second Life to the real world. You can also use the virtual NEC communicator to make calls to another person in the real world. This feature is being made possible using NEC’s SCI Platform solution, which is on show during Mobile World Congress 2008.

Now this virtual world to real world connection is only limited by the imagination of the user, this will be used for fun and ways to make money.
