Jaws Star Roy Scheider Has Died Aged 75

While everyone was excited over the BAFTA’s last night, the Scheider family had to deal with some devastating news. Roy Scheider, best known for his role as Police Chief Martin Brody in Jaws, passed away at the age of 75.
Despite being best known for Jaws, Scheider had a varied movie career. In 1971 he appeared in Klute, which launched him into his next Oscar-nominated role in The French Connection.
The cause of death was not formally released, but it was known that Scheider had been battling a form of bone marrow cancer for some time.
