Atonement Wins Best Film At BAFTA’S, La Vie En Rose Scoops Four Awards

Atonement may have had an astounding 14 nominations at last nights BAFTA’s but the awards were distributed fairly evenly last night. Atonement managed to scoop the big award of the night, Best Picture, but only won one more award for Production Design.
The big winner was, surprisingly, La Vie En Rose which won four awards.
Many of the predicted winners came out on top. Daniel Day Lewis won the Best Actor award for his role in There Will Be Blood, Diablo Cody scooped the Best Original Screenplay for Juno (and rightly so!) and Javier Bardem won the award for Best Supporting Actor for No Country For Old Men. The Coen Brothers also took home the Best Director award for the film.
There were some surprises on the night. Tilda Swinton won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her turn in Michael Clayton, This Is England took the award for Best British Film, which many would’ve put money on Atonement winning.
