Microsoft is giving DirectX 11 the boot from Windows 7 Ultimate

While we would expect details of Windows 7 features to be limited so early on, what we are hearing is Microsoft’s next version of Windows is giving DirectX 11 the boot.
The Inquirer has reported that they want to keep hardware requirements down; this does bring back memories of the many features cut from Vista, although there is no official word from Microsoft yet about this rumor.
