Singer Feared She’d Look Ugly

True to her Diva self, Mariah Carey has reportedly threatened to quit her new movie because her role requires her to look ugly. Carey’s role calls for the singer to wear a prosthetic nose and fake busy eyebrows in her role of Krystal the waitress in Aaron Woodley’s new movie Tennessee.

Carey was upset with her makeover but has chosen to keep the part because she’s looking to earn acting credibility following her abysmal biopic Glitter.

A source has said, “Mariah is the nicest person to work with - everyone loves her. But she was uncomfortable at being made ugly for the part.

“When she saw the nose, she called her people and decided against it [starring in the film]. She wasn’t a diva about it, but she did seem very insecure about her appearance.”

What do you think about this? Was Mariah having a diva strop?

Well, just because she is famous does not mean that she does not have any insecurities, maybe she does not like the way she looks sometimes, and making her look worse might be uncomfortable to her. Im sure she must have some insecurities after being in that horrible marriage, or maybe she just wants this movie to be perfect, and shes trying not to give anybody any reason to write anything negative. I dont know, either way, she is a good actress (ie Wisegirls)

Superficiality at it’s finest. It’s a movie role, nothing more. In the movie, she isn’t being “Mariah”. That’s the point. If she was a real actress, things like that wouldn’t bother her. All she is is her looks, nothing more.
