Apple Mac Mini: benefit of being both a Mac OS X and Windows PC

Apple Mac Mini
The Apple Mac mini has been around a while now and I own one of the first models of the Mac Mini, which is Mac OS only, the newer models have the benefit of being both a Mac OS X and a Windows PC.

PC Magazine’s Joel Santo Domingo has just taken a fresh look at the Apple Mac Mini, they have gave it a full review because the design may have stayed the same, but the internal components have changed so much that it can be compared to a desktop PC but without taking up much space.

When it comes to having a computer that can fit into any room of your home and look good, the Mac Mini has it…ours is in my daughters bedroom for homework and gaming.

The new Mac Mini is definitly underated in the living room pc stakes as it’s nice and quiet.

However I think you should remember if you plan to run vista on it then the 1gb ram will need to be upgraded to 2gb (not via Apple’s upgrade prices!) and also remember the dedicated graphics won’t be up for anything other than light gaming.

Switched my wife to the Mac Mini from a PC and she loves it. She has the Intel version so she can also use Windows XP (we hate Vista) at the same time.

A great little machine. She has not regretted switching.
