Paul McCartney and Heather Mills set for High Court battle over £825m fortune
It has been reported that next week Paul McCartney will be grilled by estranged wife Heather Mills in a no holds barred court showdown.

It’s said that the couple will appear in the High Court where a judge will at last decide how much of Paul’s £825million fortune Heather should receive.

Apparently Heather, who is representing herself, is expected to repeat sensational allegations that Paul was abusive and violent after drink and drug binges.

Paul has vowed to clear his name and keep his fortune.

A source said that “This is it - it’s not going to be pretty.”

Heather is believed to be demanding £50million. Sir Paul is thought to have offered £25million.

The closed hearing in London will also deal with custody and financial arrangements for the couple’s daughter Beatrice, four.

What do you think that the outcome will be?

In a court of law, Heather’s mouth will be speaking for Paul’s team.

    She’s a cartoon character.

I hope she receives everything she deserves: nothing.

Very unwise on Heather’s part. It is all so sad. She should accept Paul’s offer of friendship and his golden handshake and get on with all the good things she can do in the world behind the scenes with her fortune, keeping the general public and the courts out of her personal life, especially her daughter’s. If she did that, Paul’s friends would eventually become her friends. Then she could do even more good things with her power. If she spends her future looking back at their unhappy marriage and slagging off Paul, she will end up covered in the mud she slings his way. She should have realised this by now, given her experiences these past two years.
Has she any friends who have the wisdom to say this to her? And will she listen?

It’s the eleventh hour, Heather. Change your mind. Accept Paul’s offer and get on with whatever good things you can do - with what you have. Don’t let your mind torment itself or others. Every pot sits on its own bottom.

    Good luck to them both.

The problem is she has to prove all her allegations - she can’t do what she did on couches on two sides of the Atlantic (i.e. make scurrilous claims without evidence). The judge will have her for breakfast. Sir Paul is adamant that the abuses she describes did not happen: I believe him.

I too hope she gets what she deserves - the minimum amount he has to pay her for a marriage that didn’t even last four years.

I believe Sir Paul too, Helen, but remember they still have a daughter together. It must be their fate to have this confrontation. I’ve really hated to see this happen to Paul and hope he isn’t poisoned by it. He has always been such a giving and gifted person. An amazing man who Heather does not seem to see. If she is behaving this way because she is hurt that he left her, then her behaviour shows how important it is to ‘let go’ of people, particularly ones you care for. If she is worried she’ll lose custody of their daughter, then she is panicking, possibly needlessly. If she just wants his money, then her behaviour is reprehensible. If they are going to court merely to settle issues they can’t agree on, then it’s all fairly straightforward and we and the press are just playing a game with publicity that is making H and P more famous than ever. But no one outside the situation really knows what’s going on. What I HAVE seen quite clearly is a hurt, gentle-spirited man who has really battled these past two years, and succeeded much more than most people could in such a situation, thus proving yet again his specialness.
